Q&A: How can I ensure that I and my fellow MSPs are recognized for the many tasks we do?
A: One way to make sure that you are recognized for your accomplishments throughout the year is to keep a ledger.
When it comes time for your annual evaluation, get out this list and review it with your boss. Ask to have a copy of the list submitted to the human resources department to be included in your personnel file along with your evaluation.
This list can include victories large and small-from the way you diffused a volatile situation with a patient's family, to your role in the transition to a core privileging system, to moving the credentials committee meetings toward a paperless system.
Editor's note: Share your ideas for getting recognized for running an effective and efficient medical staff office. Send your ideas to mcoler@hcpro.com, and we'll publish them in future editions of CVU.
Questions and topic suggestions can be e-mailed to CVU at mcoler@hcpro.com. We'll find an expert or resource to tackle the credentialing or verification issues that are challenging you.
